Bob Bell
Chief Development Officer

Mr. Bell is responsible for the operational support functions of our homes. Bob joined Kissito in 1998, following twenty years of experience in hospital settings where he held various senior management positions. Bob holds a B.S. in Engineering from the Maine Maritime Academy. He is excited to be involved in building a world famous company and enjoys the day to day challenges that come along with it. Bob is an adventurous spirit; he has been on two cruises, both hit by hurricanes, yet he can’t wait to go again! Bob enjoys working with our family to enhance Kissito and the care we provide, and says, “I see the passion to succeed. I love being a part of this team.” Bob likes spending time with his wife and two sons (his son Corey is a member of the Kissito family too!), as well as traveling, watching sports and going out to dinner with friends.

Diane Bell COTA Corporate Rehabilitation Manager

As Corporate Rehabilitation Manager, Diane is committed to maintaining an excellent level of quality throughout Kissito's rehabilitation programs. Diane oversees education, staffing, and upholding regulatory standards for our therapy departments, as well as provides general support to our Facility Directors of Rehabilitation. Diane first held a position as Facility Rehab Manager in 1998. She joined Kissito as Rehabilitation Manager at Brian Center of Fincastle in 2003, and became Corporate Rehab Manager in April 2007. When asked about the working environment at Kissito, Diane tells us, "I love that I have a voice at Kissito. My opinions and thoughts regarding change matter. I love that Kissito invests so much in the advancement of their employees. Commitment and effectiveness are rewarded! If you are looking to actually bring about change in the long-term care industry, Kissito is the place to be!" Outside of work, Diane enjoys spending time with her husband, Corey, and six-year-old twins, Maddie and Zeke. She loves to read, journal, sew and paint, as well as traveling and spending time with friends.

Ana Clarke Director of Missions

Ana Clarke is an active force in Kissito’s missionary and volunteer work in Venezuela, Nicaragua, Colombia and Ecuador. Ana hails from Caracas, Venezuela, where she met our founder Tom Clarke while doing missionary work. Ana and Tom are now married and Ana spends time in Roanoke and Caracas. Since 2000, Ana has volunteered as a House Parent within several of the ABANSA home-like orphanages in Venezuela and Colombia, and as a Program Coordinator in the Caracas ABANSA. ABANSA is a non-profit organization established over 20 years ago with the aim of providing a home-like setting for orphans to learn, grow and be loved in. Ana has established ties between our residents and the children of ABANSA, through a pen pal program, in addition to gathering donations from our employees to bring to the children. She is also currently developing a program for street children in Sebaco, Nicaragua. Ana enjoys traveling, teaching and caring for the ABANSA children, hiking, running, and training her dogs Kissito and Kiki.

Tom Clarke President & Chief Executive Officer

As President and CEO, Tom is passionate about assembling a team which will move Kissito Healthcare to Greatness! The Kissito management team was first exposed to Jim Collins and his landmark book Good to Great at the annual convention of the AHCA in 2006. Since then Tom and the Team at Kissito have been passionately engaged in each of the factors contributing to greatness as outlined in Good to Great. Tom is a Licensed Nursing Home administrator and holds a Masters of Science in Business from Husson College. Tom and his wife Ana spend their time with the three family dogs, Kissito, Kiki and Tooki and enjoy sailing and outdoor activities.

Dianne DeFusco Chief Operating Officer

Dianne DeFusco holds a Master’s Degree in Administrative Management with a concentration in Public Administration. She has 18 years experience in long term care and managed the major revenue producing departments at one of the most profitable long term care facilities in the state of Virginia. She has received awards for Excellence in Customer Service and Leadership and has been revered for her fundraising efforts for the Northern Virginia Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Memory Walk.

Dianne’s philosophy that “Good healthcare should be available to everyone” extends past her career commitment as she volunteers for several non-profit women’s health programs in the Washington D.C. area where she specializes in sporting event fundraisers. In addition, Dianne volunteers for her alma mater, The Pennsylvania State University’s Metroplitan D.C. Recruitment Program and the Lion’s Roar Phon-a-thon. She also serves on several Penn State Boards. She currently Chairs the Awards Committee for the Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management Affiliate Program Group and will soon begin serving a two year term as the APG’s Treasurer in 2008.

In her spare time, Dianne enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and attending the theatre. She holds Nursing Home Admininstrator Licenses in Virginia, Arizona, and Texas.

Phyllis Doyle Director of Human Resources

Phyllis is the Director of HR for Kissito’s entire nationwide operation. In this capacity, Phyllis leads a team of human resources professionals in 11 facilities encompassing 1000 employees. Phyllis is responsible for establishing human resources strategy and policy in the areas of Employee and Labor Relations, Compensation and Benefits, and Organizational Development.

Phyllis joined Kissito with more than 13 years experience in the human resources field. She graduated cum laude from Liberty University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Phyllis is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Roanoke Valley Chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management (RVSHRM).

Phyllis and her 15-year-old daughter, Brittany, enjoy spending their extra time on a boat in the nearby lake. Phyllis also enjoys cooking and crossword puzzles.

Reverend David Erickson Director

Reverend Erickson was graduated from high school in Baltimore, Maryland, after which he served two years of active duty with the United States Marine Corps. For the next ten years following this service, he worked as a computer operator for Austin Biscuit Company. From 1970 to 1976, he was employed by Crook Contracting Company, and, for the next four years, by Catonsville Community College. In 1980 he was graduated from Catonsville College and was ordained into the Baptist ministry. Since 1980, the Reverend Erickson has been the senior pastor of Watersedge Baptist Church.

Tiffany Flora Controller

Tiffany joined the Kissito family in December 2006 as the Director of Accounting. She offers five and a half years of experience as Controller/Accounting Manager for a continuing care retirement community and ten years of overall accounting experience with non-profit corporations. Tiffany holds a B.B.A. in Finance from James Madison University and recently relocated to the Roanoke area from Chapel Hill, NC. “I am very excited to be allowed the opportunity of participating in Kissito’s progress toward excellence. I feel extremely lucky to work with supportive management committed to our common goal of being the best at what we do.”

Tiffany’s dog, Dixie, also works for Kissito part-time as the Kissito home office guard dog and the Employee Stress Reduction Officer. Careful not to step on the paws of Kissito and Kiki’s status of official company mascots, Dixie enjoys the attention she receives from the employees and the opportunity to model the latest dog fashions.

Wayne Fuquay CTP Director

Mr. Fuquay has consulted with publicly and privately owned companies for more than twenty years. He has operated his own consulting firm specializing in crisis and turnaround management for boards of directors and chief executive officers of manufacturing and service industry firms. He has served as interim President and CEO of both public and private companies and has served as a Director of Kissito Healthcare’s Hondo, Texas home since 2001. Mr. Fuquay has been instrumental in bringing about the development of Kissito’s soon to be constructed replacement facility in Hondo. Mr. Fuquay is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Dallas and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University.

Missy Groves Corporate Financial Manager

As Corporate Financial Manager, Missy Groves oversees all corporate filings, resolves tax issues, and works with Medicare/Medicaid cost reports. She also provides training and support to our homes' Financial Managers and Payroll / HR Managers. Missy attended Dabney S. Lancaster Community College before entering the long term care field, where she has held a variety of positions in office settings for the past 15 years. She loves teaching people, and appreciates the respect she receives from the Kissito family. She says, “This organization engages all of its managers to let them know they are part of the whole picture. Everyone’s comments are welcome in helping to make decisions that regard their homes. It is truly a team effort and a family.” Outside of work, Missy keeps busy with her three children.

Lynn Hodge Chairman of the Board

Along with the other board members, I participate in directing the activities of Kissito Healthcare and its nursing and rehab communities. This includes assuring proper physical care is being provided to our residents, oversight of the financial condition of the corporation and each individual nursing home, oversight of the physical condition of each facility, and setting corporate policy. The board is also involved in reviewing opportunities for expansion and providing specialized services in particular markets.

I graduated from Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern University) in 1966 with a B.S. in Accounting. I have worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Oklahoma, Kerr McGee Oil Company, LTV Electro Systems, Occidental Petroleum, Texas Commerce Bank, and Bear Sterns Brokerage, all in management positions. In 1994, I joined worldwide ministry Morris Cerullo World Evangelism as Executive Vice President responsible for all U.S., Canadian and European operations. In 1997, I joined Harvest Senior Services as President and Chairman. Harvest Senior Services was a new company whose objectives were to create a national chain of nursing homes and assisted living facilities that not only met the physical needs of the resident, but the spiritual and emotional needs as well. By 1997, we had 31 nursing homes and 3 assisted living facilities in our group. In 2000, I returned to Morris Cerullo as Executive Vice President, and joined Kissito to continue my work with nursing homes by serving on the Kissito board.

Kissito is an innovative organization with a primary and overriding goal to help people. The vision isn’t just limited to the elderly of our nation but spans many nations and provides help for orphaned and abandoned children in other nations as well. Kissito believes the only thing that really remains in this world is what you can do for others. Kissito strives to achieve excellence in every area from health care to administrative systems. Kissito’s management represents some of the most motivated and dedicated people I have ever worked with in my career. It is this type of team that can achieve great things, and I am proud to be associated with them.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading and exercising.

Angie Mattocks RN, BSN, MHA Chief Nursing Officer

Angela Mattocks has a BS in Nursing from Hampton University and holds her Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University. She is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator as has held the position of Director of Nursing in the long term care setting for over 10 years. In 2003, she was named Director of Nursing of the Year by the Virginia Healthcare Association. Angela’s experience also consists of over eight years of work in the acute care setting. This experience includes a successful track record at promoting quality care as a Joint Commission Coordinator at a community hospital.

Angela Mattocks is a strong advocate for quality resident care and has worked closely with the Virginia Health Quality Center (VHQC) and the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on Quality improvement projects.

Angela and her husband Bill enjoy spending time with their son, Christopher. Angela is also active is her church and serves on the medical ministry and as the Troop Chairman of her son's Boy Scout troop.

Cindy McDaniel, LNHA

Cindy is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator with more than 12 years experience in managing skilled nursing facilities throughout the state of Virginia. She holds a BBA from Radford University. Cindy has opened new facilities and assisted other administrators in opening new buildings, implementing systems, and training staff on operational standards of practice. “ I have been truly fortunate to have worked closely with the development and implementation of two successful long term care management companies. In addition, I have seen first hand, how a company grows from Good to Great. It is an exciting and adventurous process, and I am thankful for those who graciously shared their knowledge.”

Outside work, Cindy and her husband Patrick are busy with the many activities of their children Shawn and Laura. She and her husband teach Sunday School and are active in the Upward Basketball ministry program.

Tonya McEnheimer Management Information Specialist

Tonya coordinates and maintains Kissito's clinical and financial management information systems. She also maintains our SharePoint site, coordinates with our webmaster in the development and maintenance of our website, and is involved with the development and implementation of Kissito’s transition to electronic health records.

Tonya holds an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and Health Technology from Virginia Western, and has over 10 years of experience in information technology. She holds a Microsoft Professional Certificate for Server 2003.

In her spare time, Tonya mentors children and adolescents who are in foster care. She stays busy with her two young children, Christiana and Isaiah, and she also enjoys traveling and exercise.

Tonya was featured in the June 2007 issue of Biztech Magazine.

Marc G. Nevin, MD, CMD, FAAFP Corporate Medical Director

Dr. Marc G. Nevin graduated from the University of Maryland, the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the Family Practice Residency Program at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. He is also certified by the American Medical Directors Association as a Medical Director for Long Term Care. Dr. Nevin has taken care of nursing home patients and served as medical director at multiple facilities for over 25 years. Dr. Nevin’s private independent practice, Long Term Care - Medical Associates, works with all the health care systems in the area.

Dr. Nevin’s associate, Dr. Janet Jornales, specializes in both Family Medicine and Geriatrics. An experienced team of nurse practitioners and physician assistants assist the doctors in providing care for the residents of many nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Dr. Nevin and his wife, Betty, have four grown children. When not working they enjoy boating and quiet time at nearby Smith Mountain Lake.

Kathy Sanders RN, BSN, MHA, LNHA Regional Dir. of Nursing Services

Kathy Sanders is a Registered Nurse with a Masters degree in Health Care Administration from Hamilton University. She is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and has been a Director of Nursing Services in long term care for 13 years. Kathy has 10 years of experience in the acute care setting ranging from staff nurse, Quality Improvement Coordinator and Unit Manager on an acute care surgical unit. Prior to becoming a Registered Nurse, Kathy started her career as a CNA and later as a Licensed Practical Nurse in long term care.

Terri Wilks National Recruiting Manager

As National Recruiting Manager for Kissito, Terri oversees the recruiting and hiring processes within our organization. She has over thirteen years of experience implementing hiring solutions for a leading global staffing company. Terri enjoys working together to achieve great results. She volunteers her time with Junior Achievement. Terri also spends her time with her family and friends. She loves taking long walks and exploring the country side with Chloe their chocolate lab.
